Laurence Freeman tells us meditation is an act of faith.
Why is it an act of faith?
What do we have faith in?
The dictionary defines faith as:
Complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
Each time we sit in silence we trust the silence.
We are confident that there is something about the silence that makes us whole.
It has something to teach us.
Maybe we do not need to learn anything.
We simply need to rest in it.
Let it refresh and rejuvenate us.
Let it hold us for just the time we are in it.
Let it teach us to just be and not worry while we sit in it.
That is why I like to sit in the silence of Centering Prayer.
It is something I look forward to each day.
Each time I sit something different seems to happen to me.
I am okay with that.
I find that exciting.
This is why I will continue my journey into the endless depths of Silence.
