I thought I would reflect on how I currently experience prayer. Of course I am always open to new ways to experience and practice prayer.
1.
Sit in silence – I practice this almost daily in the evening. I find tremendous peace in this practice.
2.
Thank God for people, things, events that happened today.
3.
Praise Him for His creation – mountains, oceans, forests, nature, stars. It is all so beautiful.
4.
Complain, vent, lament.
5.
Partner with Him to accomplish small and big tasks for each day.
6.
Release my negative emotions to Him – worry, anger, anxiety, depression, loneliness, frustration.
7.
Release and wait when I need to make key decisions.
8.
Trust Him during difficult situations.
9.
Allow. Be open to what He wants me to experience today.
10.
Pray for others
11.
Pray in community
12.
Take a walk.
How do you pray? How do you listen to the inner voice within you from God that says I love you. You are my beloved.
This is beautiful and inspiring! I feel that my whole life is a prayer! I live from that voice within that comes from God. I also chit-chat with God the whole day, not like praying with big beautiful words. I just talk like He was my best friend, for example when I am hungry God will be there whispering : “It’s time to eat my child, take care of yourself!” and I say : Okay God, I will, what should I eat then?” Then God says: ”something healthy, I created your body too you know.” and I say: but I want a chocolate muffin!” Then God says: “Okay, but only after you eat those veggies!.” and so it goes throughout the day. But I am weird, I know, but that is how I pray anyway. God is a close friend to me, there is no great distance between us ๐
Agree, our whole life is a prayer. I really enjoyed reading your comments. Beautiful reminder that we don’t need to limit when we pray. We are always praying. Thanks.
Beautiful sequence!
Thanks for reading. I particularly enjoyed the other comments from pathsofthespirit who says her whole life is prayer.
