Contemplative prayer is the opening of mind and heart – our whole being to God, the Ultimate Mystery, beyond thoughts, words and emotions.
-Thomas Keating
There is a time to talk to God.
There is a time to listen to God.
During silent prayer we sit with God.
We empty ourselves of our thoughts, words, emotions.
We offer our whole being to God.
God is a mystery.
God is a wonderful mystery.
God is a beautiful mystery.
We don’t need to understand Him.
In fact, we never will understand Him.
Our role is to simply ask Him to come in.
The paradox is that He has already come in.
We just did not notice.
We were too busy with our own thoughts, words and emotions.
Let Him in.
Like a child approach Him with wonder and awe.
God is the Ultimate Mystery!
Beautiful!!! Love this so much! I especially loved the part about being like a child! ๐
I think we try to hard to make sense of it all. Why not just enjoy the Mystery! Thanks for reading.
I agree with you God is a mistry.
As you say ‘we try to make sence of it all, why not just enjoy the mistry.’
God is called different names by different ethnic groups.
The Tao that can be explained is not the real Tao, acording to Taoists.
Thanks for reading. Agree with you. I read a book a few years ago by Wayne Dyer – Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao. I will have to re read it again.
Yes I like his writing and I also like Peace in Every Step.
Thick Nhat Hanh. We can find helpful reading every where if we are open minded.
Thanks for that recommendation. I will need to check it out.
