Do Not Quit

Do not quit.

Breakthrough is often right in front of you.

Yet you choose to stop.

You become discouraged.

You give up.

You quit.

What is it you want to do?

You take daily action.

You pivot when needed.

You keep at it each day.

And it still eludes you.

Centering Prayer can prove helpful.

Centering Prayer teaches us to persevere.

Centering Prayer teaches us patience.

We return to our daily sits.

We sit in faith and trust.

Centering Prayer seems to show us the way forward.

We learn when to be patient and we learn when to take action.

Some of the action is a small step and some of it is massive action.

Centering Prayer is a long term marathon with God.

Our dreams and goals are also long term marathons.

We take daily action.

We keep at it.

We pivot as we discover what works and what does not.

We return to our daily sits.

And we return to our daily actions on our dreams and goals.

Don’t quit your silent sits.

Don’t quit to take daily action on your dreams.

Soulful Aging by Thomas Moore: As everyone knows, we are growing older all the time. But growing older is not the same as aging. Many people seem to grow older without going through the challenging life processes that make you a real person of substance and character. That kind of aging requires saying yes to the opportunities and difficult issues that life presents.

Writing as a Spiritual Practice: This course helps you to access the rich spiritual stories that lie deeply within you. Words are powerful. The words that you write can be used to:

  • help you understand yourself better – and therefore divine God’s purpose in your life
  • facilitate healing of spiritual wounds
  • minister to others more effectively
  • share your testimonies of how God has worked in your life

N. T. Wright, In this course Simply Jesus, students will be immersed in the 1st Century A.D. context of the life, work, teachings, and actions of Jesus of Nazareth. The goal of the course is to look at the story of Jesus from the perspective of a historian. Too many times Jesus of Nazareth becomes interpreted as simply another ‘religious figure’ among many religious figures. But this so often eliminates the understanding of a man who lived in time and space at a critical time of history.

Drawing from the wisdom of monastic life, modern psychology and best practices in personal productivity, the Monk Manual provides a daily system that will help you find clarity, purpose, wisdom, and peace in the moments that make up your life.
