Centering Prayer and your future self…..
Centering Prayer stills our interior noise.
We tell ourselves things that are not true.
“I am not confident in my abilities.”
“I am too old to try something new.”
“I will never be able to do this.”
“I don’t have the time.”
“Who am I to think I can accomplish this?”
Centering Prayer teaches us to let go of these thoughts.
With the use of our sacred word we let these thoughts go.
They are not who we are.
We open to the presence and actions of God within.
As Thomas Keating stated, “Contemplative Prayer is the world in which God can do anything. To move into that realm is the greatest adventure. It is to be open to the Infinite and hence to infinite possibilities.”
We let God pray in us.
God loves you.
God wants you to enjoy your life.
God prays in us and changes our thoughts to:
“I am confident in my abilities.”
“I am never to old to try something new.”
“I can do this.”
“If I take daily action I will make progress.”
“I will accomplish anything I put my mind to.”
We take these powerful thoughts with us and partner with God as we move through each day.
Centering Prayer teaches us to partner with God as we become our future self.
The person we are today becomes a new and better version of the person we were yesterday.
