I Will Have a Great and Productive Day!

What do I do when I feel overwhelmed at work?

I create one need to do list.

I make sure everything on the list must be done.

I remove tasks that do not need to be completed.

Each morning, I look at this list and pick the top 5 items.

I make certain to do all 5.

If I complete all 5, I look at the list and do one more.

And then one more.

In the morning I tell myself the following:

“I will have a great and productive day!”

“I can handle it!”

Often, tasks I thought were complicated were not.

Two other things I do.

I begin my day with a centering prayer sit.

Right before my sit, as I settle into the silence, I visualize what I will get done today.

I see my tasks being completed.

Then I begin my centering prayer sit.

I also take a second centering prayer sit in the early afternoon no matter how busy I am.

I need this second sit!

It is my reset button.

At the end of the day, I practice gratitude.

I look back at the day and thank God for all I accomplished and for all that I enjoyed today.
