Go on the Offense
I was recently listening to the Lewis Howes podcast, and one guest said something that really struck me: “Go on the offense.”
What a powerful reminder!
Do I wait for things to happen? Do I hope everything will fall into place? Do I stall, trying to map out every step before I take the first one?
Too often, I’ve found myself playing defense—waiting, hesitating, overanalyzing. But progress doesn’t come from passivity. It comes from action. From movement. From showing up.
So I’ve started asking myself:
Where do I need to go on the offense?
Where do you need to go on the offense?
Just start. Read something helpful. Listen to a podcast. Watch a video. Ask someone who’s already a few steps ahead. You don’t need all the answers—you just need to take the next right step.
When you take action, you create momentum. Action leads to results. Results lead to feedback. And feedback helps you grow and pivot if needed. But if you never act? Nothing changes.
Let me give you a few personal examples:
🔹 Silence Teaches — I’ve published a blog post every week for nearly 10 years. That consistent action has brought in new subscribers, coaching clients, and most importantly, it’s helped others.
🔹 My books — My first book and the draft of my second were born simply because I showed up. I sat down and wrote 500-1000 words regularly. No magic. Just consistency.
🔹 My health — I wanted to lose 10 pounds. So I used a calorie-tracking app, stuck to my daily limit, and showed up for myself every single day. Ten pounds lighter and feeling better—because I took action.
Where do you need to show up and act?
Whether it’s writing, wellness, your spiritual practice, or a new goal—go on the offense. Don’t wait for the perfect time. Don’t wait for permission. Just begin.
You’ve got this.
