Maximizing My Potential in 2026
I want to maximize my potential in 2026.
What does that mean?
It means making sure that God and I are constant partners.
I want God to be at the center of my awareness, morning, night, and everywhere in between.
When I go to bed, I thank God for the small, medium, and large moments of the day. I share what unfolded, what mattered, and what I noticed. I also tell God what I hope to do and accomplish tomorrow. Then I let it all rest with God while I sleep.
If I feel stuck, I offer my questions to God and allow them to “brew” in the silence as I rest. Even in sleep, God heals and transforms me. I rest in the gentle, powerful love of God.
What a wonderful place to be.
God prays within me what God knows I need wisdom, peace, inner calm, courage to step beyond my comfort zone, and the nudges toward the actions God desires me to take.
When I wake up, I begin my day with a centering prayer sit. I open myself to the presence and action of God within. This is the best way I know to begin the day. I rarely miss these sits, and when I do, I trust that God forgives me and patiently waits for my return.
I begin and end each day with God. These are sacred bookends but I need God in between them as well.
That’s why I take a second centering prayer sit in the early afternoon. This pause helps me remain connected, grounded, and attentive. It allows me to finish the day with the same strength and clarity with which I began. I want both halves of the day to matter.
I want to maximize my potential all day long.
When I remain connected to God, I do.
Between prayer sits and nighttime rest, I stay connected in simple ways. I ask God questions when I need guidance. At other times, I express gratitude for what I’ve done and even for what I trust will be completed.
Yes, I thank God in advance.
I believe in what God and I will do together.
Sometimes I journal. This, too, is prayer. I pour out my heart, listen deeply, and allow God to meet me on the page.
When I remain connected to God, I always maximize my potential.
With God, anything is possible.
Jesus even told us that we would do greater things than he did. We are meant to believe this. Jesus calls us forward with bold faith and expansive trust in what we can do and become.
Jesus wants us to grow.
Jesus wants us to move beyond our comfort zones.
Jesus wants us to live fully.
With Jesus as our partner, there is no limit to what we can do and accomplish.
One simple tool that can help you stay intentional and connected throughout the day is the Monk Manual. You can use it to reflect, express gratitude, and notice where God is inviting you to grow. If you’re looking for a gentle structure to support your prayer life, you can learn more about it here.
