Where Your Power Truly Is: The Present Moment

I’ve been reading The Moment of Alignment by Peggy McColl, and a few quotes really stood out to me. They are simple but powerful.

“This moment, right here and right now, is where your greatest power resides. When you shift your awareness away from regrets of yesterday and the worries of tomorrow and fully embrace the now, you unlock the infinite potential of creation.”

Centering prayer helps me live this.

Now is where God is.
Now is where I meet God.
Now is where God and I partner in my daily life.

Now is where:

  • we take the next step

  • we act on what matters

  • we move toward the dreams placed on our hearts

Now is holy.
Now is sacred.
Now is powerful.

Another quote that stayed with me:

“Faith became my anchor, and I began to trust that everything was working out perfectly, even when it didn’t look that way.”

That line describes my journey with my first book, Sitting with God.

I had finished writing it and was searching for a publisher.
At one point, I even had an email commitment from a publisher.

Then COVID hit… and I stopped hearing from them.

At first, I was discouraged.
But instead of giving up, I became even more committed.

Deep down, I knew:
👉 this book would be published.

Not because I could control the outcome,
but because I trusted the process—and God.

A short time later, I joined a Zoom call with a group of contemplatives.
The purpose was simple: connect, share, and support one another.

When it was my turn, I mentioned that I had written a book and was looking for a publisher.

As it turned out, my current publisher was on that call.

We spoke afterward.
I sent my proposal.
And within a week, they sent me a contract.

Two more lines from the book that tie this all together:

“By staying aligned with the feeling of your desire already fulfilled, you create a powerful energetic state that draws your desires to you.”

“It’s about choosing to align your thoughts and emotions with your desired reality, not your current reality.”

For me, this isn’t about forcing outcomes.

It’s about:

  • trusting

  • staying present

  • taking the next step

  • and remaining open to how God is working

If you’re feeling stuck, discouraged, or uncertain…

Come back to the present moment.

Sit with God.

Trust what is unfolding—even if you can’t yet see how it all fits together.
