If you are new to centering prayer, you might be wondering when to begin.
I’ve found it helpful to begin first thing in the morning.
Before everything else begins…
just sitting quietly with God.
If you’re not sure where to start, you might try something simple:
Sit for 5 minutes.
That’s enough.
Some days it will feel easy.
Other days you may not feel like doing it at all.
That’s okay.
Those are just thoughts.
And just like in centering prayer… you can let them go.
Simply show up.
Over time, I’ve noticed something.
My days tend to go better when I begin this way.
There’s more clarity.
More calm.
A greater sense of what matters.
My morning sit prepares me for the day.
I feel more ready after it.
You don’t need to figure everything out.
Just begin.
And if you miss a day…
don’t be hard on yourself.
Just come back.
That’s the practice.
How does this feel to you right now? I’d love to hear from you.
