Contemplation is meeting as much reality as we can handle in its most simple and immediate form, without filters, judgments, and commentaries.
-Richard Rohr
How can we meet as much reality as possible during contemplation, meditation or prayer?
Before we begin to contemplate, meditate or pray we can bring along the following states of mind. These states will help us begin, fully participate and bring closure to our contemplation.
Surrender
Love
Awe
Wonder
Excitement
Patience
Kenosis
Acceptance
When we have completed our contemplation, we still have one last thing to do. We act on what we have discovered.
