Introduction to Centering Prayer Overview

Centering at the Norbertine Community of Santa Maria De La Vid Abbey

Are you a leader or member within a church looking for ways to stay connected in today’s COVID-19 world?

I would love to tell you about this virtual opportunity via Zoom.

Now more than ever we need to quiet our racing and anxious minds.

I am currently conducting Introduction to Centering Prayer sessions via Zoom for church congregations.

The sessions are 60-90 minutes.

The following topics will be discussed:

  • Prayer
  • Contemplative Prayer
  • Centering Prayer
  • 5 minute Centering Prayer sit
  • Q & A
  • Additional Resources to further explore

It is a great way to keep your members connected while safely at home and learn a new way to pray.

Centering Prayer is a wonderful form of silent prayer that will deepen your relationship with God and at the same time help you learn more about yourself.

Centering Prayer does not replace other forms of prayer. It complements them.

Centering Prayer is based on Matthew 6:6, “When you pray go into your inner room, close the door.”

I will work with you to setup an overview designed to meet your congregation’s specific needs.

What Others Are Saying About Rich’s Work

“Rich facilitated a wonderful Centering Prayer Workshop for us at HeartWay. His words resonated with us deeply. Perhaps the most helpful aspect was his ability to effortlessly weave together Scripture and Tradition with his own contemplative practice experience. We appreciated being able to interact with Rich and experience a sit with him!”

– Danny Prada, Pastor of Heartway Church, Davie FL

“Rich did a great job setting up the discussion and getting people to open up and contribute! I’ve already received good feedback.”

– Kay Rock, Trinity Episcopal Church, Solebury PA.

“We are a people in search of meaning. But it is a rare person who plummets to the depths of life to find it. I wish more people would turn to contemplative practice as Rich has done. It’s people like him who light our way.”

-Phileena Heuertz

“Centering Prayer Journey is for both the beginner and those who want to go deeper in both knowing and experiencing Jesus. Lewis will show you the way.”

-Nicholas Amato

“Lewis presents an intimate view of his centering prayer journey. He helps us discover the contemplative life and who we are in the deepest sense, made in God’s image.”

-Fr. Carl J. Arico
