Rooted in God: Discovering Who You Truly Are

Who am I?

It’s a question we all ask.

Most people answer it by naming what they do:
Mother.
Father.
Engineer.
Author.
Teacher.
Coach.
Plumber.

You fill in the blank.

But is that really who you are?

What happens when your job changes? When the kids grow up? When a title no longer applies?
If our identity is tied only to roles and responsibilities, it becomes fragile—shifting with each life transition.

Let’s look deeper.
Let’s ask again:
Who am I? Who are you?

I believe, at the core, I am a child of God.
And not just in theory—but in relationship, in union, in deep connection.

When I sit in Centering Prayer, I rest in this truth.
I open to the presence and action of God within.
I allow God to pray in me—what I need, what I can’t yet see, and the next steps God invites me to take.

In this space, I become an open vessel.
God and I begin to move as one.
God’s action becomes my action.

And forward we go—together.

Success, then, isn’t measured by outcomes the world applauds.
Success is trusting God’s lead and letting divine wisdom shape my path.

When I partner with God, amazing things begin to happen.
I draw from
infinite resources, not just my own strength.

So, who am I?

I am a lifelong partner with God.
I am God’s beloved, walking forward in faith.

How do I maintain this sacred partnership?

I return to the practices that ground me in God’s presence:

These aren’t tasks to check off—they’re ways I remember who I truly am.

And I trust this:
God is guiding me. All will be well.

I’ve Had the Privilege of Coaching Three Types of Centering Prayer Practitioners:

✨ Beginners – Those just starting out, looking for guidance in building a sustainable, life-giving practice.
✨ Deep Seekers – Longtime practitioners who feel stuck, yearning to go deeper but unsure how.
✨ Pastors & Leaders – Those who give so much to others but feel spiritually drained, needing renewal before burnout sets in.

No matter where you are on your journey, you don’t have to walk it alone.
I’d be honored to support you.

Do you have what you need to stay grounded this year?

Over 600 big-hearted seekers have joined Mystics & Prophets, a yearlong immersion into the wisdom of 12 modern mystics—each one offering fierce hope, radical clarity, and grounded practices for these chaotic times.

This September, we welcome John Philip Newell—beloved Celtic teacher and bestselling author—to guide us through the profound spirituality of John Muir, who called glaciers “frozen songs” and the mountains “cathedrals.”

Together, we’ll explore what it means to live a spirituality deeply rooted in the sacredness of the Earth.

Live masterclasses. Guided spiritual practices. A supportive community.

This isn’t just content. It’s formation for your soul.

Books I’m Reading—and Why I Think They Matter

I love sharing what I’m reading—especially when a book has the power to shift perspectives, encourage growth, or deepen spiritual practice. Here is one that is speaking to me right now:

📘Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus: How the Jewishness of Jesus Can Transform Your Faith by Ann Spangler and Lois Tverberg.

The goal of this book is not so much to help you understand Judaism as to help you hear Christ’s life-changing words with greater clarity and force.

We hope to teach you how to listen to the Gospels with the ears of a first-century disciple.

When we honor this ancient people by learning about their culture and customs, God blesses us with a deeper understanding of our Scriptures and of Jesus, our Messiah.

Let me know if you decide to read it— or if you have something powerful on your bookshelf right now. I’m always looking for the next good read.
