God Wants to Be Involved in Your Work
“Of course, God wants to be involved in your business.”
I heard this line on a podcast recently, and it stopped me in my tracks. Click here to check out this podcast. (The Dare to Declare Podcast by Debbi Sluys)
Of course, God wants to be involved in my business.
The truth of it hit me deeply.
By day, I work remotely from home. Afterward, I turn my attention to my passion work—my website, Silence Teaches.
That work includes coaching, sharing affiliate products I believe in, speaking about Sitting with God, joining podcasts, giving talks, and writing my second book. Soon, I’ll add hosting my own podcast to the mix.
But as I reflected, I realized—I don’t always invite God into my work as much as I could. Not into my day job. Not even always into my Silence Teaches work.
I want to change that.
Here’s how I can do better:
-
Ask God for guidance and wisdom. What does God want me to do—and learn—through both of my callings?
-
Seek God’s help when I’m stuck. I can hand over my challenges before centering prayer or surrender them before sleep.
-
Celebrate with gratitude. When things go well, I can pause to thank God for guiding me.
-
Stay aware of God’s presence. God is always with me—it’s I who forgets.
God is my partner.
When I work with God rather than apart from God, I draw from infinite wisdom and strength. Through practices like centering prayer, journaling, visualization, affirmations, and gratitude, I reconnect to that partnership every day.
So let me ask you:
Do you remember to involve God in your work or business?
How can you best partner with God this week?
