Do My Actions Glorify God?
Each day I ask myself a simple question:
Do my actions glorify God?
But what does that really mean?
I work from home and serve clients.
Do I give them my best work?
Am I proactive?
Am I kind and empathetic?
Do I acknowledge their emails and clearly communicate next steps?
Am I easy to work with?
I’m married.
Am I kind to my wife?
Do I truly listen when she speaks?
Do I slow down long enough to sit with her over a cup of coffee?
Do I ask how she’s really doing, and what she needs from me?
I’m a father.
Two of my children are grown and no longer live at home.
Do I reach out and tell them I love them?
Do I remind them there is greatness within them?
Do I tell them I am proud of who they are becoming?
My youngest son still lives with us.
Do I pop into his room just to check in?
Do I make space for him to talk?
Do I affirm his effort and hard work in school?
The more I reflect on it, the more I see that glorifying God is less about big gestures and more about how I show up in the ordinary.
And when I slow down enough to notice, I see it everywhere.
In emails.
In tone.
In patience.
In listening.
In encouragement.
In small daily acts of love.
Perhaps the better question is not,
“Am I glorifying God?”
But:
Am I loving well today?
Each day offers us quiet opportunities to reflect the character of God in the way we live, speak, serve, and show up.
What does glorifying God look like in your ordinary life?
And if questions like these stir something deeper in you, if you desire to live with greater intentionality, clarity, and grounded presence, I do offer a small number of one-on-one coaching spaces for those who want companionship on this journey. It would be an honor to walk alongside you.
