“God is with me; God is helping me; God is guiding me.”
I love this!
Norman Vincent Peale shares this powerful reminder in his book, The Power of Positive Thinking.
He suggests we recite these words when we suffer from a lack of confidence.
The book was written in 1952, but its ideas are far from being outdated.
Do you ever suffer from a lack of confidence?
I do!
When I am doing something for the first time that scares me and takes me outside of my comfort zone.
When I encounter new technology that I am forced to begin learning and using at my place of employment.
When I am unsure of what my next step should be.
I am sure you have examples in your own life when you suddenly suffer from a lack of confidence.
It is then time to pause and recite this simple and powerful sentence.
“God is with me; God is helping me; God is guiding me.”
Say it a few times.
Say it powerfully and with strong emotion.
Let these words sink in.
You are not alone.
You have at your disposal the infinite wisdom and resources of God.
God is your partner.
You do not have to figure everything out on your own.
The next time you feel a lack of confidence, pause.
Remind yourself that God is with you.
God is helping you.
God is guiding you.
And then take the next faithful step.
You might not know exactly where that step will lead.
That is okay.
Trust that God is with you as you move forward.
What is one step you have been afraid to take?
Perhaps today is the day to begin.
