5 Reasons to Practice Centering Prayer

Why should you practice Centering Prayer?

Let me call out 5 reasons.

1.

DEEPEN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

It will deepen your relationship with God because it is both a meditation practice and a relationship with God. (Do not give up your other forms of prayer.)

2.

BECOME OUR TRUE SELF

It helps us discover our true self: the person God wants us to be. This is not an end point but a journey. Our true self changes and grows over time as we trust God.

3.

HEALS AND TRANSFORMS

During Centering Prayer God heals us and transforms us. The repressed thoughts and emotions of a life-time are released. The tension in our body is let loose. This is true freedom!

4.

BECOME FULLY PRESENT

Centering Prayer teaches us how to be with the ups and downs of life and what is required of us during the present moment.

5.

WE NEED SELF-CARE

We need silence. Our times in silence prepare us for the times we need to take action. We need the balance of both. If we do not take this self-care time, we will burn out.
