Write down 50 things you want or desire

I am currently reading Rebel: Find Yourself by Not Following the Crowd by Graham Cochrane.

In this book he shares an exercise, write down fifty things you want or desire.

Grant tells us, “Don’t overthink this. Just write whatever immediately comes to mind. If you’re getting stumped, ask yourself this question that I stole from Tim Ferriss: If you were the smartest person in the world and it was impossible to fail, what would you dream of doing, being, or having?”

I have recently started to journal again.

I began this practice about 2 weeks ago.

I work from home.

I do this practice before I begin my workday.

I open my laptop, type the date and begin to tap on the keys.

I trust that the words will come.

I let the Spirit type through me.

As I look back over the last two weeks here are some examples of what I have typed:

My affirmations

Visualization of how I want today to go

Reflection on things I have read in a book

Motivate myself for the upcoming day

Things I want to do and experiment with my wife and kids

I never know what I will write until I open the laptop and begin to type.

I just let it flow.

Long sentences.

Short sentences.

Single words.

I find I need this time.

It clears my head.

It helps me better begin my day.

Now back to: Write down fifty things you want or desire.

In this same journal I typed my Top 50.

I am currently at number 23.

I will let this list naturally evolve.

I won’t rush the completion.

It will be fun to see what lands on this list.

When I finish the list, I will move on to the next exercise he recommends in his book.

What are your 50 things?

Give it a try!

I continue to enjoy the combination of centering prayer and journaling.

They complement each other.

God prays in me while I sit.

When I journal I type the things God has prayed in me.

This is my time to process what God wants me to do and be.

Centering prayer is my mainstay.

I cannot imagine a better start to my day than my silent sit.

I continue to take a second sit in the early afternoon.

This sit helps me finish the day just as strongly as I began the day.
