Gratitude as a Way of Life

One of the simplest practices that has changed my life is gratitude.

Not because life is always easy.

But because gratitude gently shifts my attention.

From worry…
to trust.

From striving…
to receiving.

Scripture says:

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1

Gratitude begins by remembering who God is.

His goodness.
His presence.
His love that endures forever.

And over time, gratitude becomes more than a moment.

It becomes a rhythm.

Something we return to again and again throughout the day.

I’ve found that even in difficult seasons, there is still something to thank God for.

A quiet moment.
A walk outside.
A conversation with someone you love.
A cup of coffee.
A Phillies game.
The simple gift of being alive today.

Before bed, I often drop to my knees and thank God for what I experienced that day.

Not perfectly.

Just honestly.

And something begins to shift within me.

There is more peace.
More awareness of God’s presence.
More trust that I am not alone.

Scripture says:

“With thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God… will guard your hearts.” — Philippians 4:6–7

I love that image.

The peace of God guarding our hearts.

Maybe today, you simply pause for a few moments and thank God for three things you experienced today.

Small things count too.

What is one thing you are grateful for today?
